utilizing a straight bar and plates for added resistance. A variety of
strength training exercises are used targeting every major muscle group.
SPINNING: For
beginning to advanced levels of fitness. Spinning is performed on a
stationary bicycle, which looks and feels very much like a road bike. The
instructor encourages each participant to work at his or her own pace and
incorporates visualization techniques along with motivating music.
SPIN/CIRCUIT: Spin
for thirty minutes, strength train on the circuit in the weight room, then
return upstairs for a complete cool down and stretch. This is a total body
workout.
KICKBOX : This
class uses a variety of boxing moves such as kicking and punching in
combination with cardiovascular movements for a complete strengthening and
cardiovascular workout. Punching bag, punching mitts, wraps and gloves are
available.
STEP: A
multi-level aerobic workout done on an adjustable platform. Classes
combine many styles including dance, athletic and interval.
SENIOR FITNESS:
Warm up in the multi-purpose room, strength train, then finish your
workout in the multi-purpose room with a relaxing stretch.. This class is
appropriate for the “mature” population or those just beginning an
exercise program.
AQUA AEROBICS & ARTHRITIS
AQUA: A fabulous non-impact class in our body soothing 84
degree Olympic pool! A great class for all fitness levels and those
recovering from injuries. The arthritis aqua class is similar to the aqua
aerobic but adheres to the guidelines of the American Arthritis
Foundation.
YOGA: A physical
and spiritual class dedicated to improving strength and flexibility and
reducing stress, while utilizing a variety of yoga styles.
FLEXIBILITY:
A combination of yoga, dance conditioning therapy, & traditional
fitness, focusing on your body’s core, the abs and back. Work on
flexibility, strength and balance, suitable for all levels of fitness.
HI-LO AEROBICS: A
fun combination of high and low impact dance moves. This is a traditional
aerobic class with marching, grapevines, v-steps, etc. This class is
guaranteed to get you moving.
BEGINNER CLASSES:
All classes are open to novice participants. Please arrive early and
inform the front desk personnel.
STRENGTH:
Strength training major muscle groups in a class format, using
dumbbells, bodyflex, resistaballs and body weight.
Participants need to be warmed up before taking part in this class.
PILATES:
Pilates uses the abdomen, lower back and buttocks as a power
center, enabling the rest of the body to move feely, thus emphasizing body
alignment while incorporating correct breathing.
Through a series of controlled exercises performed with great
concentration, all muscle groups are lengthened and strengthened; which
leaves you feeling invigorated and “lifted”.
